Why you should upgrade to Udyam Registration
Udyog Aadhaar was a free online MSME registration system, launched to simplify the process for small businesses. Anyone with an Aadhaar number could register their business and get a 12-digit Udyog Aadhaar Number (UAN).
This number helped enterprises avail MSME schemes, loans, subsidies, and other benefits.
However, from 1 July 2020, the government replaced the system with Udyam Registration for more transparency and automated verification.
Still, old Udyog Aadhaar holders can:
Download certificate
Update information
Migrate to Udyam Registration
Even though new registration under Udyog Aadhaar is stopped, the login portal is still available for old users. Follow these simple steps to login to your Udyog Aadhaar:
Search for Udyog Aadhaar Update/Print Portal.
You can find this number on your Udyog Aadhaar Certificate.
This must be the same number used during registration.
You will see two options:
OTP on mobile as filled in the application
OTP on mobile as per Aadhaar
Select the suitable option.
Once you receive the OTP, enter it on the screen.
After verification, you can:
Download Udyog Aadhaar Certificate
Correct or update details
Migrate to Udyam Registration
If you want to re-download your UAN certificate, follow this:
Enter your 12-digit UAN
Enter captcha
Generate OTP
Enter OTP
Click Validate & Download
Your certificate will be downloaded in PDF format.
If you want to update details such as business name, address, category, investment, or phone number, follow the steps:
Visit the Udyog Aadhaar Edit/Update page
Enter your UAN
Generate OTP
Login
Make corrections in the form
Submit and save changes
If the mobile number used during registration is not available anymore, you cannot generate OTP.
Solution:
You must contact the MSME ministry or apply for Udyam Registration with updated details.
This usually happens if:
UAN is typed incorrectly
Certificate for Udyam already migrated
Solution:
Cross-check your UAN or try migrating to Udyam Registration.
Network issues or incorrect number are common reasons.
Solution:
Try after some time or use Aadhaar-linked mobile OTP.
